खटीमा, 07 फरवरी 2026 । बिरिया मझोला खटीमा में आयोजित स्वर्गीय मनीष चंद स्मृति द्वितीय ग्रामीण क्रिकेट टूर्नामेंट 2026 के समापन एवं पुरस्कार वितरण समारोह में प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने प्रतिभाग कर खिलाड़ियों को सम्मानित किया। प्रतियोगिता में कुल 16 टीमों ने हिस्सा लिया।

फाइनल मुकाबला नगला तराई खटीमा और उजालिकोट टनकपुर के बीच खेला गया। पहले बल्लेबाजी करते हुए नगला तराई की टीम ने 108 रनों का लक्ष्य दिया। जवाब में उजालिकोट ने रोमांचक मुकाबले में 3 विकेट से लक्ष्य हासिल कर ट्रॉफी अपने नाम की। मुख्यमंत्री ने दोनों टीमों के खिलाड़ियों से परिचय प्राप्त कर उनका उत्साहवर्धन किया और मैदान पर क्रिकेट में हाथ भी आजमाया।

इस अवसर पर मुख्यमंत्री धामी ने स्वर्गीय मनीष चंद के चित्र पर पुष्पांजलि अर्पित की। खिलाड़ियों को संबोधित करते हुए उन्होंने हाल ही में भारतीय अंडर-19 टीम की विश्व कप जीत पर बधाई दी और कहा कि खिलाड़ी यदि लक्ष्य और संकल्प के साथ आगे बढ़ें तो सफलता निश्चित है। उन्होंने कहा कि आज खेल केवल मनोरंजन का माध्यम नहीं, बल्कि करियर बनाने का बड़ा अवसर है। अनुशासन, समर्पण और टीम भावना के साथ खेलना जरूरी है।
