देवभूमि में भूमि प्रबंधन तथा भू व्यवस्था एवं सुधार के लिए विधानसभा से पारित उत्तराखंड (उत्तर प्रदेश जमींदारी विनाश और भूमि व्यवस्था अधिनियम, 1950) (संशोधन) विधेयक, 2025 पर महामहिम राज्यपाल की मुहर लगने के साथ ही प्रदेश में सशक्त भू कानून लागू हो गया है। इसी के साथ प्रदेशवासियों की जनभावना के अनुरूप उत्तराखंड में कृषि और उद्यान भूमि की अनियंत्रित बिक्री पर पूरी तरह रोक लग गई है। साथ ही आवासीय, शिक्षा, अस्पताल, होटल, उद्योग जैसी जरूरत के लिए भी, अन्य प्रदेशों के लोगों को निर्धारित कड़ी प्रक्रिया से गुजरने के बाद ही उत्तराखंड में तय मानकों के अनुसार ही जमीन खरीद पाएंगे।
सख्त भू कानून लागू होने से प्रदेश में डेमोग्राफिक चेंज की कोशिशों पर रोकथाम लग सकेगी। प्रदेश की सांस्कृतिक, सामाजिक पहचान को मजबूत बनाने के लिए सख्त भू- कानून को मंजूरी प्रदान करने के लिए महामहिम राज्यपाल जी का बहुत-बहुत आभार।
भू अधिनियम के प्रावधानों का उल्लंघन करने वाले लोगों के विरुद्ध भी लगातार कार्यवाही की जा रही है। व्यापक अभियान चलाया जा रहा है, और इस तरह की जमीनों को राज्य सरकार में निहित किया जा रहा है।
