इस तरह ऑस्ट्रेलियाई टीम अपने घर में ही मुश्किल में फंस गई है। टीम इंडिया के लिए टेस्ट डेब्यू करने वाले नितीश कुमार रेड्डी भारतीय पारी में सबसे ज्यादा रन बनाने वाले खिलाड़ी रहे। उन्होंने भारतीय टीम के लिए 41 रनों की दमदार पारी खेली, जिसमें नितीश ने 59 गेंद का सामना किया। वहीं ऋषभ पंत एक बार फिर संकट मोचक की भूमिका निभाते दिखे हालांकि वे आज 36 रन बनाकर आउट हो गए। केएल राहुल दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण तरीके से आउट करार दिए गए। आउट होने से पहले केएल राहुल ने 74 गेंद का सामना किया जिसमें उन्होंने 3 चौके की मदद से 26 रनों की महत्वपूर्ण पारी खेली।
