जनपद चम्पावत के शहरी विकास को गति देने के उद्देश्य से मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी ने एक महत्वपूर्ण निर्णय लेते हुए चम्पावत नगर पालिका परिषद क्षेत्र में निर्माणाधीन मल्टीलेवल कार पार्किंग परियोजना के लिए 140.80 लाख की दूसरी किश्त स्वीकृत की है।

मुख्यमंत्री घोषणा संख्या 679/2024 के अंतर्गत जायका रेस्टोरेंट के समीप बनाई जा रही इस मल्टीलेवल कार पार्किंग परियोजना की कुल स्वीकृत लागत ₹352.00 लाख निर्धारित की गई है। इससे पूर्व परियोजना के लिए कुल लागत का 40 प्रतिशत यानी ₹140.80 लाख की पहली किश्त जारी की जा चुकी थी। अब कार्यों में तेजी लाने और परियोजना की निरंतरता बनाए रखने के लिए पुनः 40 प्रतिशत धनराशि स्वीकृत की गई है।

जिलाधिकारी मनीष कुमार ने बताया कि मल्टीलेवल कार पार्किंग के निर्माण से चम्पावत नगर में बढ़ते यातायात दबाव को कम करने में मदद मिलेगी और जाम की समस्या से काफी हद तक राहत मिलेगी। इसके साथ ही स्थानीय व्यापारियों और पर्यटकों को भी पार्किंग की बेहतर सुविधा उपलब्ध होगी, जिससे क्षेत्र के व्यापार और पर्यटन को भी बढ़ावा मिलेगा।
