मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी रविवार को टिहरी झील में आयोजित “इंटरनेशनल प्रेसीडेंट कप-2025’’ एवं “चतुर्थ टिहरी वाटर स्पोर्ट्स कप-2025’’ के भव्य समापन समारोह में पहुँचे। कार्यक्रम स्थल पर पहुँचकर उन्होंने भारत और विभिन्न देशों से आए खिलाड़ियों से संवाद किया तथा उनके उत्साह और उत्कृष्ट प्रदर्शन की सराहना की। मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि 22 देशों के 300 से अधिक खिलाड़ियों की भागीदारी इस आयोजन को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर और अधिक महत्वपूर्ण बनाती है तथा टिहरी झील को वैश्विक साहसिक खेल मानचित्र पर स्थापित करती है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने कहा कि खेल न केवल युवाओं के शारीरिक और मानसिक विकास के लिए महत्वपूर्ण हैं बल्कि अनुशासन, टीमवर्क और संघर्षशीलता जैसी आवश्यक जीवन मूल्यों को भी मजबूत करते हैं। उन्होंने इस अवसर पर प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी द्वारा खेलो इंडिया और फिट इंडिया जैसे कार्यक्रमों के माध्यम से देश में खेल संस्कृति को मजबूत बनाने के प्रयासों का उल्लेख किया और कहा कि प्रधानमंत्री के नेतृत्व में भारत ने अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेलों में अभूतपूर्व प्रगति की है। उन्होंने बताया कि हाल के वर्षों में ओलंपिक के लिए क्वालीफाई करने वाले भारतीय खिलाड़ियों की संख्या में उल्लेखनीय वृद्धि हुई है तथा 2023 में चीन में हुए एशियाई खेलों में भारत ने रिकॉर्ड 107 पदक जीतकर नया इतिहास रचा। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि भारत 2030 में अहमदाबाद में कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की मेजबानी करेगा और केंद्र सरकार ने खेल बजट को भी तीन गुना बढ़ाया है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने बताया कि इस वर्ष उत्तराखंड में आयोजित 38वें राष्ट्रीय खेलों की सफलता ने राज्य को “देवभूमि” के साथ-साथ “खेलभूमि” के रूप में भी स्थापित किया है। उन्होंने गर्व व्यक्त किया कि राज्य के खिलाड़ियों ने पहली बार राष्ट्रीय खेलों में 103 पदक जीतकर 7वाँ स्थान प्राप्त किया। उन्होंने कहा कि राज्य सरकार ने विश्व स्तरीय खेल अवसंरचना तैयार करने की दिशा में लगातार कार्य किया है, जिसके परिणामस्वरूप उत्तराखंड अब अंतरराष्ट्रीय खेल प्रतियोगिताओं की मेजबानी करने में सक्षम हो चुका है। उन्होंने उदाहरण देते हुए बताया कि हाल ही में देहरादून स्पोर्ट्स स्टेडियम में स्थित आइस रिंक में अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर की प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई, जिसने भारत में शीतकालीन खेलों के एक नए युग का द्वार खोला है।

मुख्यमंत्री ने आगे कहा कि राज्य में शीघ्र ही “स्पोर्ट्स लेगेसी प्लान” लागू किया जाएगा, जिसके अंतर्गत आठ प्रमुख शहरों में 23 खेल अकादमियाँ स्थापित की जाएँगी। इन अकादमियों में प्रत्येक वर्ष 920 अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर के एथलीट और 1000 अन्य खिलाड़ियों को उच्च स्तरीय प्रशिक्षण प्रदान किया जाएगा। उन्होंने बताया कि सरकार हल्द्वानी में राज्य का पहला खेल विश्वविद्यालय और लोहाघाट में महिला स्पोर्ट्स कॉलेज स्थापित करने के लिए भी तेजी से कार्य कर रही है। उन्होंने उल्लेख किया कि नई खेल नीति के अंतर्गत राष्ट्रीय और अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर पदक जीतने वाले खिलाड़ियों को सरकारी नौकरी प्रदान की जा रही है, वहीं स्पोर्ट्स कॉलेजों में प्रशिक्षण और शिक्षा निःशुल्क उपलब्ध कराई जा रही है। इसके अतिरिक्त मुख्यमंत्री खिलाड़ी प्रोत्साहन योजना, उदीयमान खिलाड़ी योजना, खेल-किट योजना, मुख्यमंत्री खेल विकास निधि, खेल छात्रवृत्ति, उत्तराखंड खेल रत्न पुरस्कार, हिमालय खेल रत्न पुरस्कार और प्रशिक्षकों के लिए देवभूमि उत्तराखंड द्रोणाचार्य अवार्ड जैसी व्यवस्थाएँ राज्य में खेलों के व्यापक विकास के लिए प्रभावी रूप से लागू की जा रही हैं। इसके साथ ही राजकीय सेवाओं में खिलाड़ियों के लिए चार प्रतिशत खेल-कोटा भी पुनः लागू किया गया है।
