मकर संक्रांति के पर्व पर उत्तरकाशी में सुप्रसिद्ध माघ मेला आज से शुरू हो गया है। इस मेले का उद्घाटन बाड़ाहाट पट्टी के आराध्य कंडार देवता तथा बाड़ागड्डी क्षेत्र के हरि महाराज की डोली के सानिध्य में जिलाधिकारी डॉ. मेहरबान सिंह बिष्ट के द्वारा किया गया।

उत्तरकाशी जिले की विशिष्ट धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं का संवाहक बाड़ाहाट का थौलू के नाम से प्रचलित यह मेला सप्ताह भर तक चलेगा।

माघ मेला में भाग लेने के लिए विभिन्न क्षेत्रों से बड़ी संख्या में ग्रामीण लोक देवताओं की डोलियों और धार्मिक प्रतीकों के साथ उत्तरकाशी पहॅुंचे। गंगा नदी में पर्व स्नान करने के बाद कंडार देवता व हरि महाराज सहित अनेक देवडोलियों के साथ स्थानीय ग्रामीणों ने बाड़ाहाट (उत्तरकाशी नगर का पुरातन क्षेत्र) स्थित चमाला की चौंरी पर पहॅुचकर डोलीनृत्य व रासो-तांदी नृत्य कर बाड़ाहाट के थौलू (मेला) की अनूठी धार्मिक और सांस्कृतिक परंपराओं की छटा बिखेरी।

अपराह्न में रामलीला मैदान में कंडार देवता व हरि महाराज की आगवानी में जिलाधिकारी डा. मेहरबान सिंह बिष्ट के द्वारा रिबन काटने के साथ ही दीप प्रज्जवलित कर माघ मेला का औपचारिक शुभारंभ किया गया।

इस अवसर पर मेला पांडाल में घण्डियाल देवता, खंडद्वारी देवी, राज-राजेश्वरी देवी, त्रिपुर सुंदरी व दक्षिण काली सहित अनेक देवडोलियों व धार्मिक प्रतीकों की भी उपस्थिति रही। उद्घाटन कार्यक्रम में पुलिस अधीक्षक सरिता डोबाल, मेला के प्रशासक एवं मुख्य विकास अधिकारी एसएल सेमवाल, अपर जिलाधिकारी पीएल शाह सहित अन्य अधिकारियों ने भी प्रतिभाग किया।

उद्घाटन समारोह में त्रृषिराम शिक्षण संस्थान की छात्राओं ने स्वागत गान एवं नृत्य प्रस्तुत किया। इस अवसर पर पाटा-संगराली-बग्याल गांव, मांडौ सहित बाड़ागड़ी व बाड़ाहाट क्षेत्र के विभिन्न गांवों के लोगों ने रासो नृत्य एवं पांडव नृत्य की प्रस्तुति देकर माघ मेला के अवसर पर आयोजित होने वाले सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रमों की श्रृंखला का आगाज किया।
