चम्पावत। मुख्यमंत्री पुष्कर सिंह धामी की घोषणा के तहत ककराली गेट से मां पूर्णागिरि मंदिर तक करीब 20 किलोमीटर लंबे मार्ग पर एलईडी स्ट्रीट लाइट लगाने के कार्य का गुरुवार को शुभारंभ हो गया। परियोजना पर लगभग 8.10 करोड़ रुपये खर्च होंगे, जबकि शुरुआती चरण के लिए दो करोड़ रुपये जारी कर दिए गए हैं।
यूपीसीएल की ओर से संचालित इस परियोजना में मंदिर तक के अंतिम तीन किलोमीटर के कठिन पैदल मार्ग पर भूमिगत केबल के जरिए प्रकाश व्यवस्था की जाएगी। इससे खुले तारों से होने वाली संभावित दुर्घटनाओं पर रोक लगेगी और वन्य क्षेत्र में पर्यावरण व वन्यजीवों की सुरक्षा भी सुनिश्चित होगी।
श्रावण मास और पूर्णागिरि मेले के दौरान देर रात या तड़के दर्शन के लिए आने वाले लाखों श्रद्धालुओं को इस योजना से सुरक्षित और सुगम आवागमन की सुविधा मिलेगी। विभाग ने लक्ष्य रखा है कि पूरे मार्ग पर स्ट्रीट लाइट लगाने का कार्य अक्टूबर 2026 के अंत तक पूरा कर लिया जाएगा।
कार्य शुभारंभ के दौरान यूपीसीएल के अधीक्षण अभियंता डी.के. जोशी, अधिशासी अभियंता विजय कुमार सकारिया, एसडीओ एम.एस. बृजवाल, जूनियर इंजीनियर नरेंद्र प्रसाद सहित विभाग के अधिकारी मौजूद रहे।
