देहरादून – 10 सितंबर 2025 : मणिपाल अस्पताल, मुकुंदपुर, जो मणिपाल हॉस्पिटल्स ग्रुप का हिस्सा है, वहाँ 30 साल की एक महिला की जान एक कठिन लेकिन आधुनिक इलाज से बचाई गई। गर्भपात के बाद उन्हें बहुत ज़्यादा और खतरनाक रक्तस्राव हो रहा था। यह इलाज डॉ. पार्थ प्रतिम सामुई, सीनियर कंसल्टेंट और इंचार्ज, इंटरवेंशनल रेडियोलॉजी की देखरेख में किया गया।

महिला कोलकाता की रहने वाली हैं और पांच साल के बच्चे की माँ हैं। दूसरी बार गर्भवती होने पर 22वें हफ्ते में उनका गर्भपात हो गया। इसके बाद अचानक बहुत खून बहने लगा और उन्हें तुरंत अस्पताल लाना पड़ा। गर्भपात के बाद भी प्लेसेंटा गर्भाशय में गहराई से फंसा हुआ रह गया, जिसे प्लेसेंटा इन्क्रेटा कहते हैं। यह एक बहुत ही दुर्लभ और गंभीर स्थिति है।

पहली बार प्लेसेंटा निकालने की कोशिश में और ज्यादा खून बहने लगा। उस समय डॉक्टरों ने अस्थायी रूप से खून रोकने के लिए बलून टैम्पोनैड तकनीक का इस्तेमाल किया। फिर तुरंत एमआरआई स्कैन किया गया, जिससे समस्या साफ हो गई।

इसके बाद डॉक्टरों ने यूटेराइन आर्टरी एम्बोलाइजेशन नाम की तकनीक अपनाई। इसमें एक पतली नली (कैथेटर) से गर्भाशय की धमनियों को बंद कर दिया गया, ताकि खून प्लेसेंटा तक न पहुँचे। इससे खून बहना रुक गया और गर्भाशय भी सुरक्षित रहा। इस प्रक्रिया में न तो बड़ा ऑपरेशन करना पड़ा और न ही बेहोशी (जनरल एनेस्थीसिया) की ज़रूरत हुई।

डॉक्टरों की टीम—इंटरवेंशनल रेडियोलॉजिस्ट, स्त्री रोग विशेषज्ञ और एनेस्थीसियोलॉजिस्ट—ने मिलकर यह जटिल प्रक्रिया सफलतापूर्वक पूरी की। महिला जल्दी ही स्वस्थ होने लगीं, २ दिन बाद उन्हें आईसीयू से बाहर लाया गया और ५ दिन में अस्पताल से छुट्टी मिल गई।

डॉ. पार्थ प्रतिम सामुई ने कहा, “यह माँ हमारे पास बहुत गंभीर हालत में आई थीं। उनका खून लगातार बह रहा था और प्लेसेंटा गर्भाशय में फंसा था। ऐसे मामलों में अक्सर खून रोकना मुश्किल होता है और कभी-कभी गर्भाशय निकालना भी पड़ जाता है। लेकिन हमने बिना बड़ा ऑपरेशन किए, एम्बोलाइजेशन से खून रोक दिया और गर्भाशय सुरक्षित रखा। इसका मतलब है कि उनकी जान बची और भविष्य में भी माँ बनने की संभावना बनी रही। डॉक्टर के लिए इससे बड़ी खुशी कुछ नहीं हो सकती।”

यह इलाज न सिर्फ इस महिला की जान बचाने में सफल रहा बल्कि उनका गर्भाशय भी सुरक्षित रहा। मणिपाल अस्पताल, मुकुंदपुर में पहली बार इस तरह का मामला सफल हुआ, जो उन्नत मातृत्व सेवाओं में एक अहम उपलब्धि है।
